I have attached the floorplan that I have done some modification on. That is the frustrating part about it. I went into one of the rooms and changed all of the text styles from "Ariel" which is what the engineer had it set to and changed them to "Standard".
That seemed to help. Attached is what I ended up with. Does anyone know why this would need to be done? Seems to be kind of time consuming. I believe the behavior you are seeing is because the font assigned in AutoCAD has a fixed height and maybe even a non-std width assigned to it. I don't have Visio in front of me but I believe you are going through the correct step in converting the text.
I think there is also some options available on the text conversion when bringing it into Visio such as converting to Visio objects or not. You might play with this and see how it impacts the results. So that is the problem. It seems like if I only have two or three rooms with the text converted the print will export just fine. However when I get all of the text converted this is what I end up with see attachment.
When I look at your image, other than screening and line weights I am not seeing any Distortion. I was thinking last night about this issue.
