I have a question for anybody who has installed a Moser one piece axle into CJ To start off with I snapped the key locating the hub onto the driver side axle. Instead of going with a replacement two piece I desired to upgrade to a Moser one piece axle. Well I recieved the kit yesterday and decided to ckeck the fit of the components. When I fit the bearing spacer into the axle tube I noticed that the spacer did not fit that far into the housing.
In fact, there was only. Dana " from the lip of the spacer to the face of the flange. When I placed the bearing against the spacer the bearing extended over.
I called Moser and the technical support person wasn't concerned that the spacer did not go further into the housing. I mentioned that while I couldn't get an exact measurement, the spacer was sitting approx. He was not concerened about the distance from the spacerto the inner seal. However, he was concerned about the amount of material that needed to be removed from the spacer. However, he had no answers as to why the spacer did not find further into the housing.
He did imply that the spacer was tapered. I measured the spacer and it had a constant OD of approx 2. Forums New posts Search forums.

The holes are drilled and the tubes ends are trimmed off and everything is lining up nicely. The stock backing plates are not flat. Obviously there are stamped steel features.
I'm looking for advice from those who have "been there done that" on what to do where the eliminators interfere with the backing plate features.
Relieve the eliminators? Use different backing plates? Also, it's looking like some of the E-brake components will no longer fit due to the space the C-clip eliminators are occupying. Chrisk TurboTransAm.
Joined Apr 12, I'm going to be doing this soon as well. Did you have the eliminator pressed on or did you do it yourself? Any pictures of the process??

Mine "looked good" too, until they were in the car.. A close inspection revealed: Ruined shoes. Leaky seal in the elim. Then, the fun started. It was at that point the "love in" began. I found: 1. The block has a bastard seal in it.
The seal replacement requires special tooling. The o'ring was useless as the block bore had a razor edge on it, and the ring was toast when they put them together.
I made my own tools, and asked for a new seal, or a pt , so I could get it locally More incoming BS. You have to send the axles back. He sent me a seal, but refused to send an o-ring.
